    Friends
Version 1.422 is out. There was a short-lived version 1.421, but it again reported a strange exception related to the CPU usage monitor. I have not been able to reproduce it on any of my computers. If anyone of you out there had problems with version 1.421, then please tell me.

I am running SynthFont now regularly on four computers, all with different setups, but that doesn't seem to be close to enough....

V1.421 did crash on me as well, although it seemed OK after a system restart.
However, I have noticed that VSTis continue to sound, even after multiple stops (sounds continue where they left off after the last stop).
More importantly (to me), the volume levels for VSTis are always reset to 1 upon restarting SF.. So all the carefully selected volume levels need to be redone each time I use SF for a particular MIDI that uses one or more VSTis...
As you may remember, I mainly use Dimension Pro for these, but I found the same issue with Purple (which does suffer less from sounds continuing after a stop-start of playback).
Also, when working with selecting a VSTi for a particular track and clicking the 'keep on top' pin, the SAVE box (where the name of the preset for the track is entered) most of the time ends up behind the VSTi screen, so I end up typing blind, as this box is hidden.
Perhaps a problem on my machine only, but it is noticeable. I get around it by placing the VSTi screen to one side, so the naming box for the track is on the other.
    Hope this makes sense..

Playback itself continues to be perfect though :)
    Thanks Kenneth!

The above is in regard to the current version (1.422)

Very odd... as I haven't changed anything dramatic. Side effects... side effects. Can take some time to figure out.

I think that perhaps Dimension Pro is the biggest pain here, even if the same problems do occur with Purple as well.. With Purple, at least, it is far more sporadic and less of an issue (it does not, however, offer the same options that I find and need in Dimension Pro).

Also worthy of note, on my machine for sure, is the interference one might find when running Folding@Home: this needs to be shut down before attempting to run SF *most* of the time; sometimes a reboot is even in order before SF can be run properly - this is not just with SF, as I found issues with some games as well, although this could be specific to ATI gfx cards and its required drivers (or an strange compatibility issue with Catalyst Control Centre).

Thank you for your efforts Kenneth :)

Let's stick to the problem with DP continuing to sound after a stop. can you remember when it did work the last time (Month or version number)?

But let's give this a thought also - which volume levels do yo refer to? The ones you set in the tracks-mixer or once you set in the VST GUI interface?

I'm pretty sure that was version 1.402 when it did stop correctly. I know you did a great deal of testing with/for me back in late February & I think the problems were pretty much resolved at that time.

The volume levels I'm referring to are the ones set in the tracks-mixer. All VSTi settings are remembered and applied correctly.
Again, this is *always* set to 1 when using DP, but it does *at times* happen with Purple as well. The odd thing here is that any other settings (like transpose or velocity) are remembered just fine - it's only volume that gets set to 1.
When using a mix of DP and soundfonts in a MIDI file, the soundfont volume level *is* applied correctly, but, again, the DP volume is set to 1.
Could this be a ghost in my machine again?
    ;)

Thanks so much for your efforts Kenneth :)

The new version 1.424 released just recently seems to be able to close all sounding notes.
