    Would it be possible to crossfade between available soundfont velocity samples automatically? Say there are two or three velocities for a given note. Simply, a note in between two velocities would be a combination of the nearest two samples, played quieter so they are heard at the proper volume. What do you think?

    In theory - yes. In practice I fear that the result would sound worse as you would end up mixing two samples of close kind. But at some convenient moment, when I get back from my summer vacation, I will have a look.
