    Hi All,

For many years, I've been busy designing my own SoundFont bank for my personal MIDI listening pleasure.
But, I never found the time to share my work with others, either by releasing my SoundFont bank, or either by releasing recordings of MIDI tracks rendered with this bank and my Sound Blaster Live!.

I didn't release my SoundFont, because it would require a lot of time to build some solid documentation about it, mainly for sound credits.
And I never released recordings, as I felt that my Live! had some limitations that could prevent the tracks from being great sounding; particularly regarding polyphony and sound clipping issues.

But since SynthFont is a software synthesizer, it doesn't suffer from polyphony or sound clipping problems.
And being now able to render MIDI files with almost same accuracy as my SB Live!, I thought that it could be the solution to record MIDI music with quality in mind, although it somewhat lacks the balance and sound boost effects that can be achieved through EAX on Creative's hardware synths.

That's why I decided to release some recordings of game MIDI files made with SynthFont and my SoundFont bank, to demonstrate both of them.
And, to help spreading these tracks, I've associated them with self-made videos to release them on the extremely popular YouTube platform.

You can find these first recordings on my YouTube channel (<a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/arachnosoft">http://www.youtube.com/user/arachnosoft</a>) and my website (<a href="http://www.arachnosoft.com">http://www.arachnosoft.com</a>).
If the concept gathers some interest, I could also release many other MIDI recordings!

In the meantime, I'll continue to follow SynthFont's progression.
I would love being able to use SynFon(One) as my primary MIDI-out device, but, unfortunately, it still suffers from some bugs that are not present in the "original" SynthFont... which isn't meant to be used as a MIDI-out device!

Don't hesitate to post comments about these recordings!

Sounds really good. Not so much "cheap plastics" any longer. Keep it up!

A "Silent Night" reorchestration, perfect for the Christmas period :)
